  SHAFT FREQUENCY ANALYZER

Our shaft frequency analyzer allows us to evaluate your golf club in a live flexed condition.  As there are no industry standards for measuring the difference between L-ladies, A-seniors, R-regular, S-stiff, and XS-very stiff shafts, the only comparison can be done using an analyzer.  So many times golf clubs are sold with shafts that do not have the correct flex or characteristics to match the golfers swing speed. The ability to consistently measure a shaft is extremely critical; this measurement must be taken in the live flexed state, not on a dead lie board! Each shaft in the set must not only conform to the correct flex, but must flex in the same spot on each shaft.  As shafts flex at different points along the shaft, that shaft’s characteristics can dramatically affect ball flight and control. A graph can be created showing you your shaft flex and what the correct shaft should be for your swing.

  SHAFT ANALYZER

Shaft Analyzer

Using a shaft analyzer will locate the spine of the shaft, flex point, and shaft profile.  Every shaft has a spine, that part of the shaft wall that is thicker and more resistant to bending. Shafts that are out of spine will cause the club head to oscillate during the swing; you can’t see it or feel it but its there.  So often I have seen golfers make a bad shot only to blame themselves, when it was shaft oscillate. Once the shaft spine has been located, it must be in plained to the golf swing. That plained can be, and is, different depending on each golfer's swing. With the use of the analyzer, a flex matched set of golf shafts can be made.  Here’s what flex matched means.—the spine of the shaft changes because of shaft construction regardless of the shaft brand, if you trim or cut a shaft the spine moves, it rotates around the shaft, again you must know where it is. Flex matching will create a set of shafts that contain a linear progression of flex down through the set from high irons to low - a great shot making set.

EVALUATION GAUGE

With the use of an evaluation gauge, correct club head lie, loft, face radius measurements, hosel offset measurements, face position measurements (face closed or open to impact) can be taken.  Your swing characteristics need to be aligned to the proper golf club head design, as there are no industry standards of construction each head must be measured and ordered per specification. Another reason for not buying golf clubs off the shelf.  There are hundreds of golf club head designs, but each golf club company (including major brands) offers only a few.  Here at NOslice Clubs® we have access to hundreds of club heads and the right specifications.

GOLF CLUB SCALE

The golf club scale is designed to control and measure club head swing weight. It can be used to compare your clubs to see how close the weight match is, or club feel. The golf industry does recognize the scale using a 14 inch fulcrum, our scale. Remember club head swing weight is not total weight, so feel can be affected by counter weight shafts, know your shaft weight, it is a factor of swing temp!

MOI MACHINE

Hitting Net

MOI club construction is based on the following premise.—Moment of Inertia—here’s how it works.  MOI registers the resistance to an object being swung around a center pivot piece.  Look at it this way, if you tied a 1 pound weight on a 12 inch long string and swung it around your head it would take a certain amount of energy, but if you changed the string length to 4 ft it would be  harder to swing around your head and require more energy.  So knowing that a 3 iron requires more effort to swing than a pitching wedge. MOI club sets match that energy level regardless of club length.  I can honestly tell you that I have never had a single golfer once using a MOI set ever want to change back, I know that is an incredible statement, but its true, MOI sets do cost more because of the time in testing, but every dollar is worth it.

COMPUTERIZED SWING MACHINE (BARNEY)

Computerized Swing Machine

Computerized swing machine (Barney).  I designed and built this swing machine because of the need to control an exact golf swing.  Your swing characteristics can be reproduced on Barney for club testing.  I certainly know that Barney is not exactly you, but when making a club, designing it, and testing it, Barney can contribute a great deal to proper club construction and ball flight path.

LIE-LOFT MACHINE

Lie Loft Machine

Lie Loft Machine

Lie–Loft machine—Over the years it has been know that correct lie and lofts are a great contributor to correct ball flight.  For every ¼ inch off center hits you lose 8% in shot distance.  Shafts of the correct flex and characteristic will not work if the lie and loft of each club is wrong!  Every golfer is different in lie and loft, because of their stance, hand position, club hosel design, and shaft flex.  To determine the correct lie and loft an individual lie /loft static and active test must be done.  Manufactured clubs will never produce the correct individual lies and lofts, you are not at their assemble line for club measuring; this must be done by a fitter.  As a side note, not all clubs can be adjusted; some hosels will break depending on club design, even the brand names!  We sell adjustable hosel designed clubs. (If I haven’t indicated it the hosel is that part of the club head that the shaft goes into).

  GRIP STATION

Grip Station

Grip station—Almost all golf shops sell grips in 3 sizes and multiple colors. Retail golf shops sell on club and grip appearnaces, NOslice Clubs® sells on proper fit. Fitting in 15 sizes assures you of a proper fit depending not only on hand and finger size, but also on hand thickness.  Yes, I said hand thickness, the over looked factor in grip fitting.  The thicker your hand the less it can wrap around the grip!  Almost all men have grips that are too thick and women grips that are too small!  Grip size will affect wrist rollover, club head position at impact, and club release due to forearm, wrist, and hand tightness.  Your contact with the golf club is thru the grip, it must be right. Very few golfers use the correct hand grip, hand position, weak, neutral, strong, left and right hand finger positions, and thumb v-position. As a USGTF instructor, (USGTF level 1 affiate member) before sizing grips we discuss hand positions.
